“The clear car bra saved my paint!” That’s a statement I hear often and I just heard it two days ago. Just to preface, car clear bra is a urethane film that protects your paint against rock chips, bug stains, and other debris.
Recently, after buying a new car one of our customers came to have clear bra installed over the front nose. Smart thinking on his part. Unfortunately, one day he was driving on the freeway and saw a large rubber tire on the road ahead and there was no way of avoiding it. He had to run it over.
When he finally got a chance to pull over he saw a huge black mark across his front bumper. The area looked pretty beat up and he was sure his paint was damaged. He started to peel off the clear car bra and to his surprise his paint was in mint condition! The car bra absorbed all the damage and left his paint untouched. Miracle? Perhaps.
You never know when somebody is going to bump into your car, if a shopping cart will smash against your bumper, or if you’ll be unlucky enough to run over some debris on the freeway. To be on the safe side you should protect your vehicle with clear car bra. If you don’t, you run the risk of having to get a whole new paint job which can be rather expensive and time consuming.
The typical areas usually covered with clear car bra are the hood, fenders, mirrors, and bumpers. Many prefer to add car clear bra over the top of the rear bumper, splash guards, or rocker panels. We’ve even had people cover their entire cars in paint protection film!
If there’s one thing you don’t want to be caught doing is driving without paint protection film!
